Fields of Expertise:

Geodynamics, Applied Geophysics

Research Interests

Research interests focus on the tectonic and magmatic consequences of continental extension, compressional orogenic processes, subduction, and sedimentary basin formation. Methods of study include the application of numerical modeling to study the dynamics of tectonic and magmatic processes on a lithosphere scale and the use of geophysical exploration techniques to map tectonic, magmatic, and stratigraphic features on a crustal scale. Active research projects are underway in the Great Basin of western North America, the Ouachita and Appalachian orogenic systems of south-central North America, the Iberia and Grand Banks rifted continental margins, the Cascadia convergent continental margin, and the Coast Mountains orogen of southeast Alaska.
